statements by Lin-Piao in the Liberation Army Daily, Miss backer had
earlier asked for this and thanked us for our attention to her request.

7. Met with Miss Mary McKeough, in the office of
Representative Thomas Pelly (R. -Wash. ), concerning a constituent letter
asking for Congressman Pelly to investigate whether a relationship exists
between the and the CIA. Miss McKeough
felt that our suggested draft reply for the Congressman's signature would
fully satisfy their needs and she understands that if the Congressman himself
is personally interested, we would be happy to meet with him at his con-
venience. Miss McKeough felt that the Congressman would not be personally
interested.
8. Picked up from Representative Glenard Lipscomb
(R. -Calif.) a copy of a letter he had introduced into the RECORD reporting
that military vehicles, jeeps, armored cars, etc., labeled for "HAIPHONG
Made in Bucharest, Romania" were observed in the port city at Constanza,
Rumania. Mr. Lipscomb would like any information we might have pertaining
to the accuracy of this report. This has been sent to Mr.
