SUBJECT : Air Force Support of Project AQUATONE
. 1. Herewith is a draft memorandum on the subject of Air Force
support of Project AQUATONE, which I undertook to send you this after-
noon. It is in the form of a communication to the Deputy Chief of Staff,
Operations, USAF, from the CIA Officer-in-Charge of this project, but
it could of course be addressed to a different officer in the Air Force if
appropriate and might ultimately be signed by the Director of Central
Intelligence or the Deputy Director rather than myself.
2. As I explained to you in our telephone conversation, this is being
passed to you informally as a basis for any further discussion you may
desire. It has therefore not been signed, nor have I as yet discussed this
with the Director.
