1. Met with Mr. Anthony Jurich,
Assistant to Congressman Lipscomb and advised him that arrangements
had been made to put Congressman Lipscomb on the list\
Accompanied Congressman Lipscomb to the Agency in connection
with his scheduled address to the Mid-Career Group.
2, . In response to a constituent request, I
left a copy of the Agency information brochure with the office of Senator
John Sparkman (D., Ala.)
3. Accompanied by
attended a pre-hearing interview between Frank McNamara, Director,
House Committee on Un-American Activities, and
The interview went very well, and McNamara is of the opinion that
ill make a worthwhile witness. After reviewing his notes,
McNamara will inform us of the date of the hearing which will be in
executive session.
Provided Frank McNamara with the U. S.
addresses of the Cuban seamen who defected in Ceylon. On advice from
WH I informed McNamara that the Agency has exhausted its
interes in these people and he is at liberty to get in touch with them
directly.
4. Together with
discussed the Rodino RFE and RL bill with J. Garner Cline, House Committee
on Immigration. Cline believes there are no present problems with the
bill and no action by the Agency is needed at this time.
