25X1 1. Called Mr. Derringer of the Department of
Justice to inquire as to the status of their report on the revised Rodino bill
(H. R. 14545) for the relief of employees of RFE and Radio Liberty.
Mr. Derringer said the report had been signed and gone forward to the BOB
this morning.
25X1 2. Called Mr. Meek in the office of Representative
Henry B. Gonzalez (D. -Tex.) relative to th Icase and informed
him that the file is now under review and that he should have a response within
a few days. Mr. Meek said this would be fine, but if the delay should be
25X1 longer, asked that we provide them with an interim reply. I promised to do
this.

25X1 4. Mr. Flock, in the office of Security, advised that
Mr. Dick Burris, House Republican Policy Committee staff member, had
25X25X1 called saying he was a friend of recently deceased
and requesting the address of the deceased's wife so that he could express his
25X1 condolences to her. After checking with I called
25X1 Mr. Burris, who explained that he was a former FBI colleague of
25X1 and gave him address in Omaha. Mr. Burris expressed is
appreciation for this assistance and is aware that this is not an acknowledgment
of employment.
