Y. ), an unclassified background information sketch titled "Chinese Communist Activity Elsewhere in South East Asia", for non- attributable use by Mr. Reid. He expressed his appreciation for the Agency's assistance. 25X1 Z. Met with Mr. Boyd Crawford, House Foreign Affairs Committee staff, and reviewed with him again the question of letters from the Foreign Affairs Division, Legislative Reference Service, Library of Congress, to various overseas nonprofit organizations concerning their sources of funds, officers, method of operation, etc. I also provided Mr. Crawford with a co of the 25X1 He indicated that he is reasonably sure that the underlying requests were not from members of his Committee but that he would attempt a few discreet inquiries and advise. 25X1 3. At his request, delivered to Mr. Hugh Key various employment brochures and unclassified information relating to the CIA. In his position on the Senate Post Office and Civil Service Committee staff, he has occasion to handle correspondence with the Committee relating to employment with the CIA. 25X1 4. In response to his request, met with Mr. G.J. Cline, Counsel, Immigration and Nationality Subcommittee, concerning 25X1 Mr. Cline indicated that this bill has received considerable attention on the Hill and that there has been correspondense between Senator Eugene McCarthy and Chairman Emanuel Celler with some indication of Agency interest in this case. The Committee file does not indicate, however, any request from, the Agency. or any communication with the Agency on the bill. I advised Mr. Cline I was not familiar with any interest in it but that I would look into the matter, and provide at least the usual blind memorandum of information.
