In connection with the employment application of delivered a letter to Congressman Bob Casey (D., Tex.) and spoke briefly with Charles Frandolig, Administrative Assistant. Mr. Frandolig said that he had talked briefly with Q was impressed with her, and hoped there might be a suitable vacancy for which she could qualify. I told him that we were still in the early stages of processing her application and that our interviewer had also been impressed with her poise and bearing. 3. Mr. Ben Tryck, BOB, called in connection with Agency comment on H. R. 9878, the Gallagher Polygraph B11. I told Mr. Tryck that would be?back in touc~i with" him on this by Monday. In passing, Tryck said that DOD's comments had just been sent to BOB but that they had not arrived as yet. Mr. Blandford advised that the Agency is still scheduled to lead off in the posture briefing in February but that dates have not yet been established. Since the Chairman had not been back but a short time, the question of a meeting with the CIA Subcommittee for next week has not yet been discussed. The schedule for the week, however, is very full and if scheduled by the Chairman, would be an 8:00 a. m. meeting. Mr. Blandford will be in further contact with the Chairman during the weekend and will come back to us as soon as possible. Lipscomb (R., Calif.) and provided him with background information for possible further use on the floor of the Congress. Mr. Lipscomb indicated that he would be out of the city from Sunday through Tuesday but would enjoy meeting with us on his return on the question of a Congressional Joint Committee for Intelligence. Mr. Lipscomb is concerned about current newspaper reports relating to the Agency and its activities and desires more detailed information, particularly on the subject of a Joint Committee. r ureiga Operations and Government Information Subcommittee staff, concerning today's request from BOB for Agency comments on the Gallaa her P2graph Bill, H.R 2 78~ Mr. Archibald indicated that this is a routine follow up by the Committee to all agencies who had appeared as witnesses before the Committee on polygraph. He advised further that the Committee file was documented at the time of the original request to show that CIA had responded informally in the negative in keeping with our extensive classified testimony before the Committee and that no further response was desired by the Committee. Mr. Archibald advised that he will be leaving during the week to take advantage of a fellowship at Columbia University and that Jack Matteson, Chief Investigator, will be handling such hearings as might be held on H.
