1. Systems Availability: Attached is the Systems
Availability Report.
2. The Hetra multi-leaving Mark V 1000 line per minute
STAT units have arrived and are being tested. The
Building Comten was down from 15:32 Monday, 21 September o
Tuesday, 22 September, due to a failure of the air handler
STAT Wednesday, Comten 4 and 5 will be changed back to 2400
au Far- from 4800 baud. Comten 2 remains to be done. This
is being done to allow for backup scheme in the event a Comten
goes down until problems are resolved with running at 4800

3. The had an excellent week for production.
The most significant outage occurred at midafternoon, Friday,
when GIMPROD lost 35 minutes due to faulty MVS software. JES
and OCR had no lost time this week. PMOMAIL lost 12 minutes. All
major applications in the Special Center lost more than an hour
each this week. Wednesday evening, CAMS lost 80 minutes because
of bad data on a paging data set. The cause of the problem has not
been resolved. An hour was lost by CAMS on Sunday due to a bad
fan in Amdahl equipment. A Telex Disk drive failure on Monday
cost DDOGIMS 63 minutes; TPSTAR 48 minutes; and TPNIPS 24 minutes.

4. Tech notes are now accessible on the VM system for
all users. A Tech Note will be published this week telling users
how to access them. This will help speed up the information ex-
change and eliminate some of the paper we now produce and also

5. Work continues on installing a PANVALET Library in
the Special Center. We have created a library, established CMS
access and moved our procedures into the Special Center. We still
have to build the user VM disk, run full system checkout, and brief

Microdata Reality 8000 System ended on Monday, 14 September.

8. The IBM 6670 VM Laser Prj-n~er e operational in the
ORD Computer Facility on Thursday.
9. Wednesday, 23 September, is the scheduled date for ED/TP
to install and test switch mechanism on the CAMS (VM backup)
Hetra printer in the Computer Facility. This will allow the
CAMS printer to be used as a backup device for the VM printer.

on Thursday, 17 September, to gather information and view their newly

15. Considerable progress has been made towards restoring the
Special Center tape library to normal. As a result of the water
leak on Wednesday, 16 September, the reported number of suspect
damaged tapes is presently 900. All users have been notified and
procedures are in place for handling the damaged tapes. Approximately
