SUBJECT: Processing Weekly Report for
Week Ending 19 May 1981
1. Systems Availability: Attached is the Systems
Availability Report.
2. provided lI with a memo describing the
operational advantages of using a T-Bar Micro Processor in a
multi-computer operation.
ized access to system and data base/data sets.
3. The ACF2 rules set were put into effect to protect
GIMPROD and GIMDEV data sets. These rules will prevent unauthor-
V6 which'is being relocated to the GC47 Center.
4. GIMPROD is scheduled to move to the 3033 as its primary
CPU during the week of 25 May. This CPU is replacing the Amdahl
are not backed up, per their request.
5. AMPS - TELEX performed maintenance on the SHARE pack
drives on Saturday night. Sunday morning, when the drives were
returned, two packs, SHARG3 and STORS7 had evidently been destroyed
during the maintenance. CSS restored the packs with the last good
backup which unfortunately was from early on Saturday morning.
It took PCB personnel seven hours to scratch or uncatalog all the
data sets necessary to permit AMPS processing to continue. An
undetermimed number of cables were lost to AMPS customers. PCB
is still in the process of having the cables restored via AMPS/RDF.
We have no way to determine what cables the customers lost and
we have to wait for them to identify what needs to be retransmitted.
All DDO traffic lost cannot be retransmitted by us as their cables

processing procedures for the Claims and Compensation application,
which is being converted from the 360/20 to RAMIS. The conversion
should be completed within the next few months. STAT
7. The Ruffing Center and OCR had a good week with
GIMPROD and GIMDEV nearly trouble-free. VM was halted twice
on Friday due to two errors on the same controller. Later,
a bad card in the MP caused V.M. to be halted to rebuild SPOOL
file chains. Following that, data on the magnetic drum was
found to be in error, all of which caused VM four hours of
lost time for the day. TADS failed eight times Friday due to
CDC disk controller problems and a faulty TADS workstation.
TADS continued to fail Monday due to problems with the same
controller. The Versatec Plotter has been out of service since
Friday. The vendor has yet to respond to service requests.
8. Special Center availabilities were satisfactory for the
week. CAMPROD lost 68 minutes Saturday when a mistake
was made in transferring it to its backup computer. NIPS
lost an hour Thursday due to faulty NIPS software and time
spent by SPD in making system changes. STAR lost 1.5 hours
Wednesday due to a Telex disk drive problem.
9. was in the hospital for an operation on
her ankle and is the proud mother of a seven pound
girl. 7=-~
