System Availability: Attached is the System Availability Report. 2. We participated in a 72-hour test of the new MPS system. Several problems surfaced in each component (CDS, DATEX, PCB, and DBCC), most of which have been fixed or circumvented. Since additional testing is required, another 72-hour test will begin on 2 June and a Production Test will be held 9 through 7 June. 3. Live ETARS data was successfully processed through MPS on Friday, 29 May. 4. The annual password change for GIMPRODUCTION and DDOGIMS STAT was implemented on 1 June. 5. The IBM 3033 MP system began its official 30 day STAT acceptance test on Monday, 1 June. 1 -1 6. The Amdahl V6-1 in the Ruffing Center will be removed from the JES3 complex in preparation for its relocation into the Special Center to meet FY-81 DDO system requirements. The GIMPROD applications which currently resides on the V6 will be moved to the IBM 3033 UP system. The Ruffing Center availabilities were good this week for all software systems, although there were some problems. VM lost an hour Thursday evening, and IBM switched two suspected cards from MP1 to MP) to see if the supervisor error that occurred would reapperar. The OCR online applications all lost 90 minutes at startup on Friday due to errors in the switiching of the Comtens. GIMPROD had significant problems on several days due to hardware, software, and procedural problems. The Versatec plotter was again down for most of the week due to slow servicing response. Failures of Comten 9 caused several hours of lost time 0 on Thursday and Friday. 8. The Special Center also had a good week. CAMPROD lost only a few minutes. NIPS halted several times but without any STAT extensive outages. HDA (Head Disk Assembly) replacements. 9. An abnormal amount of problems were encountered on the SHARE devices early this week. It is felt these problems are fallout from a power outage on Saturday, 23 May. At present all spare units on the SHARE subsystems are inoperable while awaiting 10. The Versatec Plotter in the Ruffing Center remains down from Tuesday, 26 May. Similar Versatec problems have also been STAT occurring at the 0 Facility.
