The Cable Dissemination System (CDS) has established a communication link with ODP computers. The link acts as a remote job entry (RJE) station which submits job runs containing cables and JCL to ODP computers. ODP has prepared software to dis- tribute the cables forwarded by CDS. This software is known as the CDS-ODP Interface. 2. When the Cable Dissemination System (CDS) becomes operational there will be a capability to provide digitized cable distribution from OC to any Agency component requiring this service. The procedure for providing cable distribution facilities to additional ODP customers is: (1) Potential customers will first coordinate with the Cable Secretariat to determine whether the CDS can process the digital traffic requested by the customer. (2). In the event the CDS can process the traffic, the Cable Secretariat will request that the customer prepare a computer applications, request/action Form 930. (See Attachment B). This form will be forwarded to the Office of Data Processing through the Cable Secretariat. The Cable Secretariat will append the User Program Identification (UPID) code and the date when the new customers data will begin to arrive for processing in ODP. (3) After the Form 930 is received in ODP, the CDS-ODP project leader will coordinate with the customer in the development of computer processing requirements to ensure that the- traffic is handled by ODP in asatisfactory manner. (See Attachment B) . (3) The OC CDS Project Manager will request the customer to formally coordinate with ODP. The customer will prepare a Computer Applications Request/Action Form 930. (See Attachment C). The CDS-ODP Project Leader will coordinate with the customer to develop computer processing requirements so that the traffic is handled by ODP in a satisfactory manner. This specification describes the manner in which the Office of Communications' lCable Dissemination System will link the Agency's telecommuni- cations network with information processing systems such as Project SAFE. 2. The present schedule anticipates activation of the Cable Dissemination System in June 1976, at which time the CDS-OJCS link will become operational. In the meantime, OJCS should develop a monitor program for its system to permit testing and support of the interface beginning in early 1976. 3.
