The Brandenburg-Arado (i 53/Z 23) airfield wag observed between 3 at p.m. on 3 July 195 A single-engine, lorwving monoplane, with radial Af ne ias seen. No other planes were parked on the landing field or between the closed hangars. The re viir g up of an aircraft engine was heard at 5 p.m. but the ;lane could not be seen. Truck stood at the entrance gate to the field 0 2, The wrecks of German and obso"lets: Soviet aircraft were scattered on the southern and eastern ec'ges of the landing field. A three-story barracks building on the eastern edge of the field ass being reconditioned. The building site was surrounded by a board fence. The work was done by the - auunion-East firm. *' 3. A radio station was set up in the main approach lane about 150 meters from the eastern edge of the landing field.
