SUBJECT: Announcement of Appointment of Chairman, GMAIC
1. It is understood that you have approved the appointment of
Intelligence Committee, a post in which he had previously served from 1 October 1957
to 3 July 1962.
2. DCID 3/4, para. 6. provides that, "The Chairman of the GMAIC shall
be designated by the Director of Central Intelligence in consultation with and
with the concurrence of the Intelligence Board. "
3. Accordingly, with the concurrence of Mr. Carl Duckett, it is recommended
that you announce in executive session at the end of the USIB Meeting on Thursday,
17 November, your proposed designation of I las Chairman GMAIC
to be effective on that day.
