RADIO TV REPORTS, INC. eTAT,oNWMAL Radio ABC Network DAYS July 29, 1966 7:00 PM CITY Washington, DO CHAIRMAN ACCEPTS APOLOGY MORGAN: "CIA Director Richard Helms, in office only a month, went before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee this morning and personally apologized to Chairman William Fulbright of Arkensas for sending a letter to the editor of the St. Louis Globe Democrat praising the paper's editorial criticism of Fulbright. "Helms said he had made a mistake, was sorry he had praised the paper for an editorial attacking Fulbright's efforts to gain a say in CIA activities for his Foreign Relations Committee.
