NEWSCASTER: "A personal apology has been made to Senator
William Fulbright by Director Richard Helms of the Central
Inte ligence Agency. Helms assumes blame for his support of
an editorial ~n a St. Louis newspaper attacking Fulbright,
although he said it had been written under his name by some-
body else in the CIA."
"Newly appointed Director Richard Helms took the full
blame then, Senator Morse said he should resign however, because
of his behavior, but Fulbright called such a step 'prematur e.""
