I I EMPLOYMENT REQUEST Per her earlier request, I mailed to Mrs. Edmondson, in the Knoxville, Tennessee district office of Senator Howard H. Baker (R., Tenn. ), an Agency brochure and empWyment application form for one of their constituents.. 2. LIAISON Received a call from Lorraine Huang, in the office of Senator Alan D. Cranston (D., Calif.), who said they were in receipt of a letter from uin connection with a request from their constituent, Ms. Huang said that letter had stated that this was a matter the FBI should deal with and they wanted to send the constituent's letter to the FBI but that we had not returned the letter to them. I confirmed wit that we in fact did have the constituent's letter in our possession and asked her to forward it on to Ms. Huang. L00003. I EMPLOYMENT REQUEST Per her request, I sent to Kim Baxter, in the office of Representative Ronald A. Sarasin (R., Conn.), an Agency brochure and employment application form for one of their constituents. &000004. I I LIAISON . Per the request of Doris, Senate Armed Services Committee staff, I sent four more copies of the Agency publication entitled "A Dollar Cost Comparison of Soviet and US Defense Activities, 1967-77" to the Committee, attention Frank Sullivan, Staff Director. 5. I I FOIA/ LIAISON Spoke with Janet, in the office of Representative Lloyd Meeds (D., Wash.), who was calling on behalf of a constituent (unnamed) who is seeking file on himself from FBI and CIA. I suggested to Janet that she forward the request directly to us, rather than handle by phone, and our Information and Privacy Coordinator would seek any further information he might need in order to properly process the request. Page 2 25X1 25X1 FOIA At the request of I called 25X1 Tom Packer, in the District office of Representative Henry Waxrnan (D., Calif.), and provided him with the name and address of our Information and Privacy Coordinator to satisfy a constituent request regarding a 25X1 MKULTRA related report which is available under the FOIA. 11. (Internal Use Only - LLM) LIAISON Henry Myers, on the staff of the House Interior and Insular Affairs Subcommittee on Energy & the Environment, called and we made arrangements for Thursday, 16 February, at 1:30 p.m. for he and Richard Arenberg, of the staff of Representative Paul Tsongas (D., Mass.) to reviewl ocuments. I said we would permit Arenberg to participate in the review along with Myers and Jim Beck, also of the Subcommittee staff. I returned his call, told him that this was available through the Library of Congress. 17. LIAISON I called Chuck Snodgrass, House Appropriations Defense Subcommittee, and asked him about Austin Smith, staff of the Defense Subcommittee, who is traveling with Congressman Joseph P. Addabbo (D. , N. Y.) to Israel. He checked with Ralph Preston, of the Subcommittee, and said we should give Smith same access we are giving Addabbo. 18. LIAISON Called Stan Taylor, Senate Select Committee on Intelligence staff, and explained to him that the Agency paper on world oil supplies which he had asked me about was not yet in final. I told Taylor a draft paper had been circulated within the Executive Branch for comments and that is how it apparently, leaked. I assured Taylor the Committee would be on distribution as soon as the paper was published. Taylor said they had had an excellent meeting with EUR Division/DDO on terrorism and now would like to have a similar briefing from NE Division and LA Division. I told him I would try to set these up. 19. LIAISON Received a call from David Bushong, Senate Select Committee on Intelligence staff, requesting Agency assistance in locating a document top, 20. LIAISON Received a call from Dick Giza, House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence staff, who requested a copy of the distribution list for NPIC spot reports. Les Dirks, DDS&T, had shown Giza the list in a meeting last week. Giza also asked for two meetings, one with the DDO on internal evaluations of their energy reports, and second, a familiarization briefing on OSO.
