2. At the request of Mr. Morell, I
called John Stark, Deputy Director of the Joint Economi ittee,
to verify that we would use the same ground rules on identifying
Agency authors who participated in the forthcoming report on China
as were used in the most recent publication of the Join per
Qmm~ttgg, Mr. Stark said this is their present intention but that in
any event they would call us before publishing. He does not anticipate
that the China paper will be published before Labor Day.
3. Talked with Robert Brandt,
Staff Assistant, House Foreign Affairs Committee, concerning
arrangements for the meeting of the African Affairs Subcommittee and
the full Committee scheduled for 2:30 tomorrow.
