I'm writng this letter to bring to your attention a shocking story of harassment of a US citizen by his ex-employer, the CIA. The person being persecuted is Philip Agee, the author of "Inside the Goiipsr the hard-hitting expose of z ls notorious organization. Since last year, when Agee was in England, the CIA has been hounding him for trying to disrupt their covert attempts to sabotage the Manley govern, rnent in Jamaica in the Fall of 1976. First they had the English government expell him on a pretext that Agee was a threat to English 't national security". Agee was then forced to leave Scotland, ::?ranco, and now this January the government of Netherlands expelled him for what appears to be a trivial beauracratic excuse. Now, Agee is under pressure to leave. West Germany. Agee has said that he doesn't want to return to the US because he wishes to complete his CIA revelations and fears the US courts will stop him from publishing them in this country. Woulcl you please bring your influence to-bear on the Administration(I wrote Pres. Carter last year but received no response) to force the CIA to give up its wretched persecution of this man.` I feel that this episode reemphasizes the need to abolish this totali- tarian organization(CIA) and replace it with a decent foreign policy- 25X1 Approved For Release 2004/07/08 : CIA-RDP81 M00980R000400040048-2
