Tried to reach Raymond Nelson, in the office of Senator Claiborne Pell, in following up on his conversation last week regarding a foreign national who is interested in being of service to the Agency. Mr. Nelson is out of town and is not expected to return until late this week. We will be in touch with him at that time. 4. On instructions from Mr. McManus, I handcarried to Senator Frank J. Lausche's secretary a number of press items concerning Senator Stephen Young's remarks about CIA "atrocities" in Vietnam. Included were Senator Young's original statement and retraction, the ticker containing the Agency's denial of the Young charge and several selected Moscow Radio broadcasts playing up the Young allegations. 5. Received a call from Mrs. Ramage in Congressman Cederberg's office inquiring whether CIC was a branch or had been taken over by CIA. She wanted to know the proper office to call concerning a constituent's question and I recommended contacting. the Department of the Army.
