1. During the 21 January debrief the Director asked the

b. The Director indicated his interest in a summary
perspective of the overall problems and successes
encountered by the Soviets in their invasion of
Afghanistan. DD/NFA noted that this was something
he had asked for last week. It was noted that this
was being prepared fora PDB on 23 January. In view
of the DDCI's 22 January testimony before the HFAC,
it was requested that a draft of this pD6 article
be provided hi.m by 1200, 22 January. (Action:
