Personal
Dear George,
Many thanks for the excellent briefings and the
other courtesies extended by you on Tuesday.
I hope I didn't give the blow-torch (Komer-like)
impression for I fully realize that results are hard
to come by and that patience, tact, and understanding
are essential ingredients.
It may be also that some of what Piet Hein said
is necessary:
"The noble art of losing face may one
day save the human race and turn into eternal
merit what weaker minds would call disgrace."
I called Mr. Helms' secretary to see if there
might be an opportunity to see him for a few minutes
before I leave.
Sincerely,
V,
R ert E. Matteson
