I want to thank you for the invaluable security services
which your Agency provided during the funeral of the late
President Kennedy.
As soon as we realized how many foreign dignitaries would
attend President Kennedy's funeral, your Director of Security,
Mr. Robert L. Bannerman, offered to assist us in any way pos-
sible. We asked for help in terms of special agents qualified
in protective duties, and the response came immediately. The
CIA contribution was a major factor in our protective security
program during those hectic days.
I shall be most grateful if you would convey to Mr. Bannerman
and members of his staff my personal expression of thanks and
appreciation for a job exceedingly well done.
