Approved For Release 2004/05/05 : CIA-RDP80M0l133A00060010gd 10 September 1975 Note for: General Wilson Subject: White House Request 1. Attached is the inventory list of CIA intelli- gence publications sent to Jixr. Fazio on 10 Sept. Of these, three were estimates provided by the NIO, two were special reports from Executive Registry, and the remainder were identified by Dave Peterson of the White House Support Staff. 2. 1 have since received a few reports from OER and am promised more from OSR and CRS. These will be sent on 11 Sept., in accordance with Fazio's request. 3. In hindsight, I believe this request should have been directed to the CIA and fulfilled by them inasmuch as only Agency publications were requested, and since NSA and DIA were separately tasked. 4. It is also interesting to observe that there is no central inventory or record of publication distribution to the White House or elsewhere. Each office in DDI maintains its own records, and some seem to be better than others. Separately, the NIO's, USIB and the Office of the DCI maintain their own records. Each of these was checked. I cannot be confident, however, that we have or will be able to respond fully and accurately to the White House request. In summary, I feel that this job was poorly done under the time constraints given and the multiplicity of inadequate records to be checked.
