A/DDP noted reports of possible Cuban involvement in the Dominican Republic. He noted plans by elements in both to attack US installations. He noted Chinese communist dissatisfaction with Cuban revisionism. He noted the wheat problem in the UAR. He re- ported that Governor Harriman had left Chile with no undue disturbance. s operational de- DDS&T alluded to some element of end engaged cusasion with the DCI about aids to navigation. He noted that the had been stood-down, was bad, 25X1 and that there were three operational U-a's He stated that 25X1 the OXCART program was proceeding well, and that th ployment plan should be ready over the weekend. ftston was given guidance on briefing papers for Senator Stennis 25X1 DDS reported the had been removed 25X1 DCI suggested the removas o the rest of the equipment. DDS also noted that an effort would be made to get a tax break for civilians along the lines of the provisions for the military in Vietnam. He also noted the institution of a new all-hazard insurance policy. DDI displayed the Vietnam Monthly. DCI requested that curves be inserted in the statistical section. Cline also described the Tuesday planning lunches with particular reference to Wait Rostow's visit to Japan. DCI and DDCI agreed it would be useful to hear his views. DCI asked that the morning and evening situation reports filed by General Palmer for the President be brought to the DCI's attention. DGI noted that he was not being informed on decisions such as augmentation of forces in South Vietnam. Cline is to speak to McGeorge undy about this. 4ked that certain current indicators be included for his ion in talking to Secretary McNamara about Vietnam. DGI asked for an explanation of the Soviet reconnaissance ro ra p g m over the US and received no definitive answer. DDCI stated that it would be a good idea to hold the 303 Meeting next week.
