two representatives regarding the great number of people they were
asking for clearance and fful]y suggested to them that this not
develop into a chain letter type of clearance throughout the service .
He indicated to then that the services should not take the approach
that deputies and executives wring for the cleared individuals
needed to be briefed in order to handle information in the absence ~)f
the cleared individual. When such absences occurred, action would Mate
