Approved For Releas 000/08/26: CIA-RDP62B00844R0002&12 Xc-acj / OF r-.Opy j Oc tober 23, 1959 I told John last week that I would make a few quick notes on some thoughts I had regarding agenda items for our meeting here November 2nd. These 1. How do we talk to vendors on various equipment items? a. Suggest two classes -- one briefed fairly completely and the second not briefed at all, but just cleared. In the first category we would suggest the air conditioning and engine control vendors, for example, and, to the second, the suppliers of titanium. 2. Competitive bidding for important systems. 3. Contacts at who furnish the titanium. Affect of steel strike on material delivery. 25X1A 4.. Special fuels. Status of aterials. 5. Requirement for bringing into the picture early on inlet controls. 6. Our approach to problems on capital assets. 7. Transportation to 8. Status of A. R. tests. 9. Design speed philosophy. 10. Equipment bay design conditions, including those requested by P. E. and those possible. 11. Ejection seat and pilot environment. 12. Augmentor basic design problems. 13. Design criteria and limitations for M=3. 5. 14. LAC organization and schedules. Transportation of articles over the road. 17. Status of high temperature plastics. 18. Contemplated test programs. 19. Review of power plant status and its installation. 20. Electronic packages and communication requirements. 21. Review of titanium test results. There are, no doubt, a large number of other items to cover, but these are a few that come to mind immediately. I am assuming that the other suppliers who are interested in only a portion of the above agenda will be present only part time for most of the above dis- cussions. We will have rooms available so that, in addition to their attend- ing the suppliers' meeting, we can have separate discussions at the working level between, for instance, the P. E. people and our equipment group, after we have covered their main function for which the meeting was set up. I am attaching our proposed delivery schedule for all the aircraft considered. The first two are considered to be delivered at the time of their first flight and then assigned to the flight test status. The other delivery dates indicate delivery into your hands for training and operational use. Also attached is a schedule on the prototype airplane. I am looking forward to seeing you, hopeful that you can spend an evening with us. Sincerely, 0 cc: John Gene P;5, Approved For Re1d"ase 200048/.2y,: OIT-MPq2BOO844ROO0200120010-9
