I am sorry that they are retiring you physically but I dare may that thirty years from now you will figure they probably have done the right thing! I I would be very happy to receive a copy of the brochure you are preparing on yourself and will certainly have our senior officers look It over. I do not, however, want to give you any idea at this stage of the game that we would have anything in which you might be Interested. In the first place, all personnel acquisitions have been frozen because of the Administration's economy measures but the most lortant factor is that we are taking in personnel laterally and at senior grades only. and I repeat only, when they are a rare breed of cat who have qualifica- tions that we cannot acquire from our own resources and which it would be inexpedient to train from in-pease assets. We are eon- centrating almost entirely an continuing to build up the career services in our venous activities and this means bringing in young college graduates at the lower grades and putting them through out own two or three-year training course and probation- ary period prior to accepting them in the career service. This is the only way I know of to =aintain the present staters of profession- aiism, enthusiasm, and dedication that the Agency is noted for. I know you will understand this but I did not want to be writing you under any illusions.
