Studies now underway use, state- W-the-arL instrumentation, data and modern acquisition and I)rocessin' er;:iipnent and tecnniyues to identify those engineering systems and ;.rocesses most likely to display operator-related anomalies. Three areas are under particular scrutiny: experiments in low-level ;.sychokinesis, assessment of precognitive remote-perception data, and development of theoretical models to correlate data and explain the phenomena. Scholarly research into psychic phenomena over the past century has produced provocative results, but none that are regarded as convincing in the traditional scientific sense. Yet the potential implications of such phenomena are considered to be Sr.) prafourd and pervasive for many fields of human endeavor, that efforts toward demonstration and resolution continue in several disciplines. The field of engineering, in particular, is seen to present a multitude of situations that may be vulnerable to psychic interactions. Many feel that it behooves the engineering profession to ex3riine the possibility of psychic interactions in a controlled manner. This seminar sets forth some concrete plans in this direction.
