The President desires to meet privately with Greek
General Angelis following 10:00 a.m. Naples meeting with
Chiefs of Defense Staffs and NATO Commanders. Request you
:.e following steps to arrange for meeting:
1. Notify General Angelis of President's desire to
chat with him privately following meeting
2. Ascertain whether General Angelis speaks English.
If not arrange for availability of interpreter via military
channels exclusively.
3. Confirm by message when necessary arrangements
have been set up and status of language problem.
It is important that arrangements be made in such a
way that other high officials, especially Secretary General
Brozio and Ambassador Ellsworth, are not triggered to re
quest similar private meeting with President because of
their knowledge of this arrangement.
