Se=urity Conditions in Cities
to be Visited by_SssEetary Kissinger
25:0 1. Security conditions in most of the area
remain good, but there are indications of possible
25:0 trouble in Jordan.
aoraanians obviously will make a major effort to
prevent any such effort, but a concerted Fedayeen
operation, if actually attempted, could seriously
affect the security situation. It should be
noted, however( that Jordanian security organiza-
tions have successfully thwarted a number of
similar operations planned by the Fedayeen,
3. In Morocco, the Fighters for the Purity
of Islam distilEirtid an anti-US tract on 1 November.
It called for the closing of Kenitra and the two
outlying stations, but made no mention of the
Secretary's visit. The Fighters have issued
similar tracts before, although the organization
apparently has so few members that it verges on
being fictitious.
