On 29 July, you provided us clearance on release to
the Senate Select Committee of sanitized versions of the
Intelligence Community post mortems on the Middle East War
of 1973, the Indian nuclear test and the Cyprus war. On
the basis of that clearance we also responded to a request
from the House Select Committee for the same documents.
The HSC has come back in a letter of 19 August (copy
cncla=ed) with a.rcquctst for "copieb of any follow?up
Intelligence Community studies which have been done."

in response to a House Committee request via the Intelligence Community (IC)
Staff of the DCI.

Second, the Committee has already received a sanitized version of the IC
post mortem of the war, and this document is offered in response to the
Committee's request for follow-on IC studies.
Under the circumstances, is there any valid basis acceptable to the
Committee by which the document could be withheld from the Committee?
