At 10:00 a. m. today Mrs. Shih called me from New York
to say that the Chinese agreed to three things:
-- They accept the revised text for the announcement
of Dr. Kissinger'a trip which I handed to
Ambassador Huang June 5.
They agree to making the joint announcement at
11:00 a. m. June 14 Washington time, 11:00 p. in.
Peking time.
-- They agree to the approximate arrival time of
Dr. Kissinger in Shanghai, i. e. 1700 on June 19.
I thanked her and said that we would give them the
remaining technical information on the travelling party in
the near future.
