Subject: Studies to be Prepared for the President's
Visit to the People's Republic of China
It would be greatly appreciated if the Central Intelligence Agency
would prepare the following studies for use as background
iizformation for the President's visit to the People's Republic. of
China (PRC).
Mao Tse-tung's Philosophy and Present Political Role
-- Chou Enr-tai's Philosophy and Present Political Role
-- The Internal Political Situation in the PRC
-- The PRC's Approach to International Affairs:
a) Formal Diplomatic Relations;
b) Support for "Wars of National Liberation"
-- The Present State of Sino-Soviet Relations, to include
Order of Battle Information
Biographic Data an the Senior PRC Personalities the
President is Likely to Meet
completed.
These studies should be submitted no later than January 31.
However, individual papers should be forwarded as they are
