Dear George:
As you know, the Special Session of the UN General
Assembly is considering the establishment of a Special
program for emergency measures to aid disadvantaged developing
countries. I realize you have reservations about our involve-
ment in the Special Funds levertheless, I hope you will be
able to find your way clear to help us make a contribution
to the Special Fund. At this critical moment, we cannot
afford to be isolated in the UN, especially since we
need Algeria's support for our important efforts in the
Middle East.
Please let me know your thinking on this important and
increasingly urgent matter.
