Davis SUBJECT: Ehrlichman Requests Information on NSC Staff John Ehrlichman has asked for an up-to-date list of the NSC staff, for monthly figures on the size of the staff, and for a comparison with the Johnson NSC. (Tab II) I have prepared a memo for your signature (Tab 1) which gives him the information. We deliberately delayed for a few days, since we had some personnel actions in process and a total a week ago would have been misleading. RECOM AENDATION: That you sign the memo at Tab I. It seems to me prudent to try to prepare our counterwpunch well in advance. To that end, would you please provide me with an up-to-date list of the current NSC staff. It would be very helpful if you could provide me with monthly figures on the size of the NSC staff and any sort of comparative numbers that you may have developed with regard to the Johnson years. All information that you provide will be strictly confidential. In-order to prepare the material accurately it is vital that we have all the information, John D. fBh"rlichman No Objection to Declassification in Part 2009/12/09: LOC-HAK-23-4-7-4 FOR, AL HAIG
