From. Interview of Prime Minister by Gov Goldstein,
Maariv, 14 April 1976
I have reason to believe that for a long time now
some people-in Israel, and possibly outside of it, would
like to muddy US-Israel relations in order to hurt the
credibility of the government and, in particular, to
hurt certain people both in the American administration
and in the Israel government.
The first expression to this trend was given by
passing classified information to an Israeli journalist,
who published a book on the basis of it, the aim of which
is clear: to disturb the relations (between the two
countries) and to harm certain central figures both in
the government of Israel and in the US administration.
I would like to add to this that'the material that
was given to this journalist in order to enable him to
publish the book.was selective, taken out of context
and tendentiously not correct in order to serve the
purpose of trying to undermine the relations and the
people which I mentioned before. Every leader who
wants to obtain a correct picture of the state of US-
Israel relations, if he relies on the events described
in this boob will receive a false and distorted picture.
