SUBJECT: CBS Interviews
1. At 0725 tomorrow morning, you will arrive at the CBS
studios for two interviews:
a. CBS i~orning News: This program, which will
begin its 14th year in September, is carried on approximately
200 stations Frith close to.2 million viewers. It is hosted
by two anchormen: Hughes Rudd. in New York and Bruce Morton
in lJashington. You will be interviewed on this program at
about 0745 by Bruce Morton and Fred Graham. Highlighted
biographies on both are attached. Also attached is a 3x5
card with three areas which you should work to include in
the interview regardless of the questions.
? You previously met Fred Graham when he was
one of the panelists on FACE THE. NATION in March. He
questioned you about your position taken in the confirmation
hearings on criminal sanctions against those who leak or use
classified information. You might expect this line of
questioning to be repeated.
Bruce Morton is a straight-forward and objective
interviewer. He has been wary of our relationship with
Congress in the past and has made reference to the "clubby
feeling" which has existed between CIA and the Hill.
