Dear Sir:
In your November 12th issue under the title, "Spying on U.S.
Business," you quote me as saying that security checks of U.S.
industrial firms are "discouraging." I would like to correct the
record. That quotation was from a speech made in August of 1977,
not-today.
Since that speech in 1977, I have been very encouraged by
the responsiveness of U.S. industry to new emphasis on industrial
security. The results have been impressive. I no longer find the
situation "discouraging." Instead it is heartening.
Prepared in 0/DCI.
