Action Requested: That you authorize the use of your signature as the Director of Central Intelligence on individual certificates of completion (sample attached) to be awarded to Intelligence Community security officers to recognize successful completion of the Physical Security Seminar sponsored by the DCI Security Committee. With your approval, your signature may be mechanically written on each certificate. 2. Background: As part of our continuing effort to achieve uniform standards and to enhance security procedures within the Intelligence Com- munity, the DCI Security Committee plans to inaugurate a Physical Security Seminar program in August 1983. The seminars will be conducted for physical security specialists of the various departments and agencies of the Intelligence Community using the Physical Security Standards for Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (NFIB/NFIC-9.1/47) as the guide. The objective is to achieve maximum uniformity of understanding and application of the established standards and to provide an opportunity for the exchange of experience among specialists in the physical security field. The five-day seminars will be scheduled quarterly at They will include lectures by experts in the various physical security disciplines, as well as films and workshops. Attendees at each seminar will be selected from the Intelligence Community on a prorated basis. 3. Recommendation: That you grant authority for the use of your signature as the Director of Central Intelligence on individual certificates of completion of Physical Security Seminars sponsored by the DCI Security Committee.
