charges
Michael Battaney faces the
following charges, that:
1. On April 3, 1983, in the United
Kingdom for purposes prejudicial to
the safety or interests of the state,
he communicated information to a
Soviet official which was calculated
to be or might be, or was intended
to be, directly or indirectly useful. to
an enemy, contrary to section 1(1)
(c) of the Official Secrets Act, 1911,
as amended by the Official Secrets
Act, 1920 and 1939.
2. On April 3, 1983, in the United
Kingdom, he delivered a letter to a.
Soviet official setting out precise information preparatory to the
