a. The site is a structure situated beside a
land/water' interface ( see sketc::I-1, page 9). The
land is sandy and dry, and the water- is
stagc-fant/slimy/I-)eavily mineral laden (AOL: IiE;e a
large evaporation pool). The entire site gives me
the Al of "indust.r'y's ugliest destruction of
nature" . There is some kind of mac:hi ne in the area
wl-rich makes a slow "r)s.tf f C,!-itJl~lh ! " sound.
b. Higgins, himself was located inside the structure,
dressed in a clean Uniform, and pacing angrily
about the r-raom. He is filled with impatient anger
over the i ncompetenc:::e of the people around him. He
is di ssgc..cstec:! with the ?f eel i nc:l that there is no one
in ch?tzarge, and that nothing is getting done. He i.s
waitirig for" something.
