MEMORANDUM FOR ASSISTANT DEPUTY DIRECTOR FOR SCIENTIFIC AND
TECHNICAL INTELLIGENCE
SUBJECT: Operational Report - Project 8706 (U)
1. (S/SK/WNINTEL) During the course of five sessions conducted
against Project 8706, Source 021_ and Source 003 provided
substantially correlated information on a rectangular building
having a steeple, towered structure at its center (SEE TAB A).
Source 021 described a series of silver pipes and tall of
cylindrical objects located in an adjoining area in support the tower-like building. A rank, acrid and musty, gaseous odor
was associated with the cylinders. Both sources alluded to a
"cap" and "core" concept associated with the storage of energy at
the rectangular building with the tower.
2. (S/SK/WNINTEL) Source 021 identified a second, square-
shaped building with distinctive, exposed steel girders. The
edifice was either under construction or in a state of repair.
The building was located on a sloping surface and gave the
appearance of being taller in front than in back. Personnel were
apprehensive, even fearful of the structure.
