2. (S-SS) At-the start of this session, I tried to rid myself
of the feeling that there will be no attacks on U. S. flagged
ships in the (3ui f of Hormuz or the Persian Gulf dur i nc the month
of September, by declaring it as both A.V. and AOL.
3. (S-SS) Having done this, I located myself on the Persian
Gulf, and looked for s flagged ship, having a problem.
Perceptions were:
There was' U.S.lagged ship having problems which was
located near land, the coast being in a north/south
'direction at that point (see sketch, bottom, P'.1)
b. The ship, itself is facing in a north/south direction at
the time of the problem.
4. (S-SS) As a double check on this information, I then
retasked myself with "U.S. ship having trouble in the Persian
Gulf", and got nothing.
5. (S-SS) It dawned on me that I-had just given myself two
different tasking cues, so I again cued myself with
4 0-ceptions ed shi havi. nc. trouble i n t.h? Persian Gulf ". received were:
a4 Ship facing in a north/south direction.
V Something wrong (NMI) FWc h on one end.
c; The end with "something wrong" is the northern end of the
ship, facing away ?Frorn land.
d fi Feeling that this is the same ship as perceived above.
6. (_..SS) It did not occur to me during the sess,~ on to draw a
t i mel . nes, and check for a specific date of occurr4 `nee.
