REMOTE VIEWING (RV) SESSION CD-06
1. (S) This report documents a remote viewing session conducted in
compliance with a request from SOD, J3, OJCS, Pentagon, Washington, DC.
The purpose of the session was to provide information relevant to the
hostage situation in the U.S. Embassy compound in Teheran, Iran.
2. (S) The remote viewer's impressions of the target are provided as raw
intelligence data and as such have not been subjected to any intermediate
analysis, evaluation or collation. Interpretation and use of the information
provided is the responsibility of the requestor.
3. (S) The protocol used for this session is detailed in the document,
Grill Flame Protocol,. AMSAA Applied Remote Viewing Protocol (5), undated.
4. (S) Following is a transcript of the viewer's impressions during the
remote viewing session. At TAB A are drawings made by the remote viewer
reference his impressions of the target site. At TAB B is target cuing
information provided the remote viewer.
5. (S) The remote viewer was shown an overhead photograph, labeled
Shiraz. On this photograph was an annotated building. The viewer was
asked to go to this building and determine if there were any hostages
at this location. If so, who are they, and what type of security measures
are being taken to guard them. The remote viewer felt that there were four
people being held hostage at this location, but could only get descriptions
of two. He also described five Iranian guards, two of which were sleeping
at this time. The viewer felt that this building. was located somewhere
in the extreme northwest section of the city.

#14: This will be a remote viewing session for 13 May 1980.
Mission time is 1400 hours.
All right #01 the time is now 1400 hours. Your mission
for today is to go to the buiding that I've shown you
on overhead photography. I want you to tell me if there
are any hostages being held at this location. If so,
identify them and also describe the security of this
location.
PAUSE
#14: #01 tell me about the building in the photo.

+10 #01: There's a main entranceway in the center, one side....
There's some kind of very large bay type room on the left
side. Some kind of a small room on the right with a
hallway behind the entrance door. There are 3 other small
rooms, on the right, further down the hallway. Some
kind of ....keep wanting to make this into some kind of

They are all civilians. One is tall, lanky individual
with light brown hair, kind of a thin face. There's
nother with a rather chunky build, powerfully built- -
in the pas as-a-beard. The 3d, 3d person I canes...
I just know there's a 3d person. There are 5, 5 Iranians
here, as well. The hostages are in the smaller room on.
the right as you come. into the entrance. They are being
kept locked in this room. There's very little activity
there, right now. Of the 5 Iranians, 2 are sleeping....
it appears they are sleeping. And, 3 are sort of sitting
in a hallway on the floor talking. Three in the hallway
are armed. It's a very closed place.
.+15 I don't see any windows anywhere in the building.
It just appears to be a very closed place, of some'sort.

#01: Drop, drop.ceilings...... the last 3 rooms in the back
are some kind of office rooms. .I was getting an
impression of the main area on the left of the hallway,
the large bay type room is, is very dark., Like there's
no lights. There's.....it was like a flickering, like
a broken neon light would flicker. I don't know what
that is. There...what appears to be two fire exits from
the main bay type room, but these can only be opened from
the inside. There's no exterior hardware: There's also
another door at the opposite end of the hallway, and that
has the same kind of ...that's done the same way. You can
push out on the door, but you can't enter from the exterior.
No exterior hardware.
PAUSE
Think there's a 4th hostage here.. But I can't...
two of the.hostages, I can't see.
PAUSE
That's all I get.
20 #14: Do you have a feeling of where this building is located?
PAUSE
#01: I feel like it!s in the northeast. No, I'm sorry.
North, extreme northwestern section of the city of
Teheran. Yeah. Way up in the northwestern part of the
city.
It's.possible that this might even be a ......like a
suburb that's been.... overtaken by the city of Teheran....
like consumed by city limits because of the expansion of
Teheran city. It's very far up in the northwest.

#14: We are now ready for debrief.
#01: Page 1. Felt like I went in an entrance door in the
center, and there's a hallway that went straight back
to the other end of the building. A straight-through
hallway. This is like a fire door. Oh, there was
...2 more fire doors over here, and that there were
3 rooms over here, and this is some kind of a.....
I don't know what to call it....some kind of work area.
And, this is an office, this is an office. This is a
bay type room..... equipment.... some kind of equipment
in there. There's some smaller rooms back here, but
I don't know what they are. Had the feeling like there
were, two circles with Xs in 'em..... two guards sleeping.
And there were 3 guards out here.talking. You know,
like camped on the floor in the hallway. These 3 in
the hallway were armed and there were 4 hostages in this
room.
There's..... that's an entrance door there. There's no
hardware on the fire doors in the exterior. Street side.
This is somewhere in the extreme northwest section of the
....you know ...... I want to say it's Teheran city but
it's like a suburb...like Reston is a suburb of Alexandria
county, for instances.
#14: What'leads you to say that? Is there anything in particular?
#01: I just kind of drew back a long distance and said where. is
this.....
#14: If you drew back from a distance.......
#01: You know. I have an impression there's an academy or
a school somewhere to the southeast to this building, and
this academy.or school is like in the extreme northern section
of Teheran city. Let me show you what I mean. If you were
to say this is. the city of Teheran, this square, on page 2,
I get an impression there was like an academy or school
here.....real large place, okay, this would be part of
Teheran city, and this was like......over in this area.....
Extreme northwest section of the city. I. don't know why
I get that. That's just an impression I get. I kept
1trying to orient it by looking for water, or something. But,
when I tried to orient it by looking for water, I kept getti
an impression that the.water was down where the two is.
That's the best I can do, I guess.

#01: For sure there's 3 hostages there, but I get an impression
there's 4, a1thQighI don't see the 3d one too clearly, and
the 4th one I don't see at all. I just have an impression
there's 4.

1. (S) The viewer has been sxposed to open source news media information
as well as classified overhead imagery and numerous photographs of hostage per-
sonnel. He knew he would be working against the hostage situation in Iran.
2. (S) At the time of the session the remote viewer was shown an annotated
overhead photograph which was labeled Shiraz on the back. The photo is not
included herein due to its classification. The viewer was asked to go to
the annotated building and determine if there were any hostages being held
at this location. If so, to identify them and to describe the physical
security or this building.
3. (S) The remote viewer has been briefed on the current status of the
hostage situation and told that the whereabouts of the hostages was not known.
