(U) BACKGROUND: At TAB B is a copy of minutes of the GRILL FLAME meeting at DIA
on 24 Aug 78. Included is atasking over the signature of Dr. Vorona.
2. (S/ORCON) DISCUSSION:
a. The 18 Sep 78 suspense established by Dr. Vorona's S G letter was extended to the
first week of October by the DIA A/0,
b. It is not reasonable for OACSI to recommend funding levels until INSCOM has
designated its GF focal point, and the Working Group has been formed and met.
c. The most recent indication that Navy may still be working on GRILL FLAME was
a remark made by one of the SRI scientists. He indicated that his office nearly lost
a contract because of a novel published by SRI's main Subject.
3. (U) RECOMMENDATION: That ZA sign the letter to Dr. Vorona at TAB.
