In reference to your letter dated 02 October 1980 and our recent meeting on
07 October 1980, I have enclosed a copy of the combined format which we intend
to utilize on a trial basis. '
Since our requirements for evaluation may very somewhat in their degree of detail,
the format will probably be modified again within the very near future. This will
occur after a sufficient test of the established format.
I essentially agree with your estimate of benefit which can be derived from a
computerized data management system. However, until we have established what our
direct analytic feedback will be, t regret that we cannot pursue this avenue as
rapidly as we would like to. We hope to have established a clearer picture of
our needs by early 1981.
We currently consider Audio Analysis development as our most urgent need and we
believe funding integrity in that area must be maintained even at the cost of
delaying data management. This temporary delay should not affect our continuing
discussions. I would greatly appreciate any further information you develop in
this area of Analytic support/evaluation.
Our continued sharing of ideas will benefit all of us, and add substantially to
efforts in the interim, I would very much like to discuss computerized data
management at a later date.
