Regarding our previous request to you to act as a lay member on the
Army Surgeon General GRILL FLAME Human Use Committee, we now understand
from the Committee chairman that a non-DOD lay person is not in fact a
requirement. Therefore, our impingement on your extremely limited time
is no longer necessary. We are most appreciative of your willingness to
have served in this capacity had it been necessary.
Your interest and commitment to this project are considered vital, and
it is hoped that your continued support can be counted upon. At your
convenience my office will gladly update you on Army's efforts, including
results of the Surgeon General committee's deliberations on the protocol
put before it.
