Mission time is 1400 hours. All right #01 the time is now 1400 hours. Your mission for today is to find Paul Needham, Captain in the United States Air Force. I want you now to describe and identify his location. +03 #01: Small room with..uh.. sheers.....like curtains... sheer-like curtains. Very bright room. Some kind of plants on the windowaill. Like a bedroom. It's very light plaster and the walls like a beige or a tan color... plaster. Get a, get impression of a high window... probably 2-stories, even higher. Maybe 3 stories. Without the window you could see the tops of a row of trees. There's a long hallway outside of the room. It's a very ornate hallway...like..uh...it's paneled in wood...not quite all the way up, but halfway it's paneled in wood. It's a heavy brown door with numbers. Silver numbers. PAUSE You have to hold on a minute. I'm getting alot of......... PAUSE #14: This noise doesn't seem to be getting any better. #01: Why don't you...uh....just put the tape on hold for a minute and let me relax for a minute. #l4: Ok. We're going to pause in this session due to loud noises outside this room. #14: We're now ready to continue. It's a very plain building from the corner. I'm looking up the corner. See a heavy tile type roof. Hip (phonetic) roof. Old fashioned windows. It's like I'm looking up from a row of trees, and...uh... there's a row of rooms there, which he is in one. There's more hostages. Perhaps ...uh...4 or 5 more hostages. There's nobody else in his room, although I get the impression that there was. There used to be somebody else in his room. There's ...uh...I can't get an easy picture of where the other hostages is, but I keep seeing ...uh...Colonel Holland's picture. Keep seeing Holland. I think he might be in that group. I also get a distinct, feeling that standing under the trees I'm...um... I think I'm looking up the main building .... main Embassy building. Get a feeling I'm standing in a range of fire, for some reason. Like a..uh..mapped out fire area. I don't know how to explain that. Like...it's like an area I wouldn't want to walk around in. That's all you're going to get. I've got alot of problem with noise here, today. #14: This session is being cancelled at this time due to people out in the hallways, banging, clanging, shucking and jiving and bullshitting, and the whole thing. #01: 1 think, I think the impression I'm getting in front of the building might be valid, but.... I don't know. #14: End of session. Ready for debrief. We're now ready for debrief. #01: Ok. On page 1 1 want to draw the exterior of the building first because I think that was the most valid impression that I had. I had the feeling like I was standing under some trees looking at the corner of a building. This being the end of the building. Then I went off into the distance down to the left. I got the impression like I was looking at a hip type roof that was tiles. .They were bake red tile. And that there was...uh...3 floors and windows that went off down the side. I guess maybe that's where I got the impression that I was looking at the main building. Like a very old, formal building. And, I got the feeling like this room with a star is probably room that he was in. There was corner stones like design pattern down the corner of this building. You know, like more roughly cut stones sitting in a stucco type finish. This finish was a yellow, sort of a light brown stucco. Windows on the end of the building..... 2 sets. And, I. got the feeling like there was trees....like here, going down the side. And, the..uh..front was around the other side. I got the feeling that out of that row of top floor windows...5 or 6 windows...that Holland was in one of the other rooms, but I wasn't getting a clear impression of hostages because of all the noise. Uh..... I got an impression of sheer Approved For Release 2000/08/07 : CIA-RDP96-00788R000800940001-1 _7 T IF' 7 7' Approved For Release 2000/ 8R000800940001-1 curtains in the window, and plants on the windowsill. Light tan color to the room. The interior hallway, I got an impression of looking down a long hall which had like wainscoting going down both sides...wood paneling. With like a very formal panel ceiling. Maybe some exposed beams, but, you know, a very rich look to it. And, this hallway just went all the way.-you know...down like this. That kind of affect, and there was doors on the left side where these rooms were. That kind of thing. That's really about it. Oh! I got a feeling that looking down on the building I was trying to get a feel for security and guards and everything, like you asked me to and the only thing I can say that empacted on me was looking down on the building, as you look at that end of the building, I got an impression of a gravel area, like this, and this row of trees, and then there was like a road or some- thing here, and grass, and I was standing like where the star is in the circle here. I had the feeling that if I stood there I would be right in area fire. You know. Like this area is real, real...a place you wouldn't want to walk around in. #14: Ok. You described...uh...heavy brown door with silver numbers. #01: Yeah. That's one of the hallway. #14: OI
