REMOTE VIEWING (RV) SESSION CCC-62 {~
1. (5) This report documents a Remote Viewing (RV) session conducted
in compliance with a request from SOD, J3, OJCS, Pentagon, Washington,
D.C. The purpose of the session was to provide information relevant to
the hostage situation in the U.S. Embassy compound in Teheran, Iran.
2. (S) The remote viewer's impressions of the target are provided as
raw intelligence data and as such have not been subjected to any inter-
mediate analysis? evaluation or collation. Interpretation and use of
the information provided is the responsibility of the requestor.
3. (S) The protocol used for this session is detailed in the document,
Grill Flame Protocol, AMSAA Applied Remote Viewing Protocol (S), undated.
4. (5) Following is a transcript of the viewer's impressions during the
remote viewing session. At TAB A are drawings made by the remote viewer
reference his impressions of the target site. At TAB B is target cuing
information provided the remote viewer.
(S) The remote viewer was asked to locate Steven Lauterbach and
identify all hostages at this same location. The viewer described a larg ,
ectangular, two-story building which faced a large open field. He was
of able to make any positive identifications from the photographs
vailable. He did feel that there were 30-40 hostages at this location,
J cluding 2-3 women.

#14: This will be a remote viewing session for 17 April
1980. Mission time is 1030 hours.
All right #46 the time is now 1030. Your mission
f today is to locate and identify the surroundings
f Steven Lauterbach. I want you to relax now.
Relax and focus your attention on Steve Lauterbach.
Describe to me his location and surroundings.
+03 #46: There's a predominance of 2 windows in room. Get
the impression most of the other ones only have one.
Get the impression his is a corner room on the
second floor. To the right is the entrance facing
the field. I want to say he passed undetected,
and he's with a group that possess no threat, is not an
immediate concern to those people.
There's something about his youthful appearance that
played a...... like a big part in this, and his
ability to......establish a very deep and fast
friendship. Only about 3 of the people that holding
there. No one in particular movement (phonetic).
Appears-to be-:-:.higher echelo.Q_of guard forces there.
Like a number 2 or 3 man on a pa titular group of it,
and these, these 2 have a good personal relat.ionshi
I got the impression because of this relationship-
....favorite. He's in with at least 3 other guys,
before we even-gat-started I_aLready had the
impression that there was.......was aiU0man-in--t-tte
adjoining room, next door, which would be the
second room from the right.

+10 #46: Windows there appear to have some significance. They
thought of climbing out, but they did not do this
because they do not anticipate no immediate danger.
PAUSE
#14: I want you now to focus on this building. Tell me
where this building is located.
#46: I think it's the one, ... * ........................
that's the one this side of that big field there.
And, I got the impression that there's some type of
assurance that they're in some part of this innocuous
group, and, therefore, they are in no danger because
their assurance is given to them by this friend.
#14: Describe the outside of this building to me.
+12 #46: Yeah. It's...uh...the rectangdilar building, two
stories, let's. see- -ub...buildin9 with a cement
steps, double door. It's the rectangular-
that leads to the field. This is where the main b
just keep coming b
#14: I want you now to go back inside of-trrts-trRIT ing,
and I want you to describe all other hostages that
you see in there.

I think he's military but not wearing a uniform.
There's a tall guy with beard and glasses..........
He's over 6 foot ...6-1, 2. Same guy is indistinctive.
#46: I can't do that except to tell you that...........
they were talking about a group of about 40,
among whom are 2 or 3 women. Cot the first impression
of 2, then one creeped in. There are 2 guys with
beards in this room, and there's a clean shaven,
light complexion, light hair, somewhat sharp nose,
not too thin lips, but not very full lips.

#46: There's a curly hair, full curly hair, light brown,
hazel, brown, not hazel, but just light brown.
It's fuzzy. The other 2 were more distinct.
Think the tall guy is in a sweatshirt. Something
that looks like a sweatshirt.

Ok. Just the overview of the shape of the building
and where I picked him up. He's in the corner room
here someplace. I don't see why those dam windows
were so important. If they were, why they kept
popping up. It didn't make sense, but that's all right.
They're either here or here. They kept shifting
places on me. But, they were like they were supposed
to be significant.
Later on I described the front of the building which
is something like this. Had double doors here.
Don't want to draw a curved line, but.......
I saw two levels. And, I also saw cement steps.
Something like that. Then, I got leary because I've
seen ....... I worked with similar buildings here, and
this wasn't too strong but I thought there was the
path, and proverbial field; we looked at it before
and there was another building here. This...sort of
a narrow driveway path. Really, it's not this big.

My impression was that he was in the back here
someplace, and trying to find, once again, something
that I could put my finger on, I think the ladies
are next to him in the immediate vicinity. I'll
put an 110"...they're either next door or not too
far...probably next door.
Then I saw two, then I saw three, but two is
predominant.
Ok. Then I tried to get some facial impressions...
and idea impressions from the people in here..
that's when I tried to describe..uh..those two other
guys. If I see the picture of the fair haired guy
I won't have any problem identifying him. I may have
with the tall guy and the beard, glasses. I get
confused because alot of them have beards and glasses.
Not only in pictures but...... I saw alot of......
crowded activity..... real rough guessed it when I
said 40. Could be 30, but was more than 30. However,
I got the distinct impression was less than 50.
Somewhere between 30 and 40, thereabouts.

1. (S) The viewer has been exposed to open source news media infor-
mation as well as classified overhead imagery. He knew he would be
working against the hostage situation in Iran.
2. (S) At the time of the session, the viewer was told that he would
be trying to locate Steven Lauterbach. He was told to describe
Lauterbch's location and identify all hostages at this same location.
The viewer was shown the attached photograph and asked to locate and
describe the surroundings of the individual in the photo.
