SUMMARY ANALYSIS
REMOTE VIEWING (RV) SESSION CCC4
1. (S) This report documents a Remote Viewing (RV) session conducted
in compliance with a request from SOD, J3, OJCS, Pentagon, Washington,
D.C. The purpose of the session was to provide information relevant
to the hostage situation in the U.S. Embassy compound in Teheran, Iran.
2, (5) The remote viewer's impressions of the target are provided
as raw intelligence data and as such have not been subjected to any
intermediate analysis, evaluation or collation. Interpretation and use
of the information provided is the responsibility of the requestor.
3. (S) The protocol used for this session is detailed in the document
Grill Flame Protocol, AMSAA Applied Remote Viewing Protocol (S), undated.
4. (S) Following is a transcript of the viewer's impressions during
the remote viewing session. At TAB A are drawings made by the remote
viewer reference his impressions of the target site. At TAB B is target
cuing information provided the remote viewer.
5. (5) The remote viewer was targeted against Michael Metrinko. He
did not describe any other hostages during this session. However, the
viewer did perceive an individual whom the viewer thought may have been
a guard.

REMOTE VIEWING (RV) SESSION CCC4
This will be a remote viewing session for 26 February
1980. The on-target time is 1400 hours.
All right #36 the time is 1400 hours. Our target for
today will be Michael Metrinko. His photograph is on
the table in front of you. I want you to relax, relax
and concentrate. Project yourself to Metrinko's present
location and describe what you see around you.
Oh! 149.
I saw, I saw very beautiful terrain, terrain model a..
at a scale of about 3 inches high. It was very exact.
I saw 6 helicopters somewhere. It was above 'em...uh..
sitting on the ground with rotors turned. There's a
sense of extreme excitement. I couldn't tell if the
helicopters were real or, or models. I felt very tense.
Extremely tense. Getting a...got all muddled with all
kinds of images just going by...like, like a train through
a station filled with billboards. Just thousands. I
came on a, I came on a,a man sitting at a desk or table
with some kind of light to his right and left on the,
on the table (mumbling).
Describe this person to me.
He's about..uh..30-35. Brown hair. There's something
about a mustache (phonetic). Room is..uh..very dimly
lit, except for the lights that are on a surface of a...
A I don't see anyone else. I was aware of alot of peopll.
Alot of people with shoes off, pros... prostate on a i;
..uh..2 rows of people positioned this way.

#14 I want you to relax, relax, focus your attention
again on Michael Metrinko. Relax, focus your
attention. Tell me where Michael Metrinko is.

+23 #36 Through, through an arched door... .white door frame.

#36 I sense that he's in there to the right somewhere,
but I...I don't see him anymore.

#14 I want you now to slow...
36 I got so much imagery, I...just, you got to sort
7 through it. I just..uh..umm..a gold colored..uh..
hawk or eagle which is associated with, with a
structure where he's located. The darn thing, the

#14 Tell me more about this gold colored bird.

#36 Looked like it was..uh..3 dimensional or (mumbling).
I kept seeing it at different angles. For some
reason I thought it was in the vicinity of, in the
+32 vicinity of an entry way and since I was looking for
someone I just assumed that..uh..it had something
to do with his whereabouts.
+34 #36 I was seeing words associated with some number when
I (mumbling)..written words, but I can't remember
what they were. Right now, I'm seeing upwards
+37 towards the ceiling and looks like the effect of

fancy capitals. Appears to be brighter towards the
ceiling. Almost like the effect of indirect lighting.
Capital shapes, fancy shapes near the ceiling. Appears
subdued like they're silhouetted against brightness.
#36 This individual seems very, very bored. His, his
face is resting on his left hand and his elbow on table
top. Appears to be doing something with his right
hand. Assume he must be right-handed. I see paper.
I think he's-he's drawing or doodling.

I'm sorry. What was your question?
#14 I want you now from Metrinko's location give me a
description from an aerial point of view.
#36 I was, I was having trouble comparing with what I
see with what I know. What I thought I know. Didn't
jive.
#14 Just give me the raw data.
#36 Don't, don't exactly understand it. Almost like
+41 a line drawing. Looks like curved linear arches
forming a dome like shape. Definitely symbolic
imagery rather than clear high' resolution detail.
Well appeared 2 light lines leading away from this.
Appeared to be some kind of squarish structure
underneath the stylized dome shaped structure. It's
not very clear.
I guess I'd better draw now, huh.
#14 I have no further questions. Is there anything you'd
like to add?
#36 It was a very strange situation. I was just all over
the place...extremely high speed... difficult to slow
down... look at one thing. Sometime when I would stop
to look there would become outline. Like outline
(mumbling) white neon tubes. Just brilliant. The
sharp imagery was moving so fast... seemed to have no

..uh..no relationship. Almost like trying to take
..uh..a weeks tour in one day. You see so much
you couldn't remember. One of the, one of the
strangest things that's happened to me in a while.
I just hope that I can remember it to draw some
of it.
#14 And we're off and running. Ok. We are ready to
start drawing your impressions during this session.
The first thing..uh..what was odd. The very first
thing that you said was as I heard it 149.
#36 I remember something about some words in a number,
but, I don't remember what the words were and I
don't remember any specific imagery that went with
those. I didn't know what it related to.
#14 Ok. Then there was a pause and you then described
little figures about 3 inches high being moved around.
seeing a terrain model.
Yeah. I don't think I can draw that, but, it was
very attractive, active looking terrain model with

a tremendous sense of excitement. I don't know hcC
much later this was and I tried (mumbling) I think
was 6 helicopters facing, what I felt was the northwest

#14 What type of terrain was this in the middle?
#36 Oh! It was. ...I felt it, and this could be overlayed..
I felt that it was inside the grounds at the Embassy
in Iran and the helicopters were pointing diagonally
across one of these open fields there in between the
big long buildings. That's, that's what I thought.
See fairly sharply about 200 yards and I thought I
could make out the buildings and trees and wall. I
thought,'Oh! I know where this is." But the sharpest
things was the helicopter and all of a sudden, I was
aware that well I really don't know if these are
models and they're overlay from the previous thing

I'd seen or if these were real. And, then I became
aware that I was extremely..uh..I thought my pulse
was very high, I felt extremely excited and I couldn't
figure out why. I don't know. It was a very strange
feeling.
#14 Were you able to look at these helicopters well enough
to give a description?
#36 I don't think so. I, I could not tell you whether they
were ours or somebody elses. Uh..they had a..uh..
rather than have twin rotors.. .1 mean, you know, one
rotor forward and one aft they had a tail boon. Oh..
other than that they were just a tadpole thing rotating
rotors on top. Oh..I seem to remember that sometime
after that I saw ......
#14 You described a man sitting at a desk or a table.
#36 UHumm... There was some kind of light source I felt to
his right and his left and seemed to be rather dim light
and for some reason reminded me of old fashioned lights
of some kind.
One thing I noticed about this room was most of it was
..uh..very, very dim except that most of the light was
around the vicinity of this table.
myself wonder my if^ahis was__ ._gupr,cl_ si and Qc~ there
located to the right passed that person. I, Ir-bu-T'd--
Oh, I saw an entry way that was..uh..
..and the...it was inlet and it was arched and..um..
it seemed to be white. I don't know if it was cement
or carved marble or what it was. I think the walls were
masonry..uh.. I went through this door .... uh...I went
straight ahead a little ways... looking around and I
looked. . .1 started to make a corner to the right, and
there was someone standing there right against the..uh..
right up against the wall and just..uh..I was within
a foot of him. It startled the heck out of me. And,
I felt that..uh..this ind_ivid.ual.,,though I didn't follow
came back to the door and an image of a..uh..an
eagle..uh..gold eagle or hawk..uh..came on..uh..at times
it would appear 3 dimensional as though it were on a
pedestal and then it would appear bar (mumbling) against
'the disk with raised letters. I couldn't tell which
was which..uh..I seem to have left that I had a feeling
it had something to do with entry to..uh..to..uh..to

 an area or structure. I don't know if it was the
same one as on drawing number 2, or not, but, I
thought it was important for some reason.
#14 Ok. This b.-t, eagle, or whatever... Were the wings
outstretched or half folded back?
#36 o. they were fold hey were folded and the
bird, instead-dr having his head way up high..uh..
had `read cocked as though it might be looking at
something down near its feet. Uh..I remember thinking
gee...the wing should be spread, you know. Maybe it's
symbolic of the United States,-or something and I tried
to look back to see if I could see the claws and the
spread eagle. Uh..didn't see that. The wings were
gently folded. As t-h-'h the bird was standing on a
perch..uh..almost tvbore If that makes any sense.

#36 Oh! I kept seeing the eagle from, from its left side.
I don't know if that's significant or not because I,
I tried to get around it and see what it was relative to.
Where it was sitting so I could describe the surrounding
and all I could do was see it from that same side.
Oh..about this time, I went back and looked for this
individual again. I remember getting flashes of him
and..uh..big fancy hall and..uh.,.looked like top of
capitals. You have a ceiling..... though there was
some kind.of indirect light behind i . I could not
see 19w down the wall from it, jt- I felt this area
wa ' uite large. This was,~v~-ry?high. Oh..not as high
han you would ect to see in a buildings built in
on him.... uh.... doing something with his right hand.
Drawing I think.
#14 After that I asked you to give me an aerial description.
#36 Oh...I don't know why but, I felt I could see through
this thing as though,it were only..uh..this skeletal
framework.

#36 It's a dome kind of shape but I felt I can see
through it and I couldn't figure why I could see
through it. By the way, all these lines appeared
white as though they were built out of a white
neon tubes. Just blue and white and I tried to get
detail like you've seen an image. But, all I could
get was the linear outline in white against a dark
background. Almost like you've stared at a bright
image and you close your eyes and see the same shape
in negative form on your eyeballs. Oh..I worked
with this image, trying to shake it, trying to make
it flip and..uh..look like a normal image and it
seemed like for a long time all I could get out of it
was various forms of the dome structure.. .a cubic
shape underneath with 2 white lines..uh..leading
some distance away from it. Oh..I tried to make
sense out of it. I just couldn't do it. I don't
know. Maybe he's in ..... maybe this represents the
building he's in. I don't know. As I remember, that's
about it.
I thought it was interesting that without having looked
at the photograph I saw the individual and I thought
I described him fairly well. J
#14 Do you feel that looks like the individual that...
#36 Yeah. Except I thought in the photograph he looked a
little younger than I saw. I said I thought he
looked about 35. That photograph, I think, looks a
little bit younger than that.
#14 So you are saying that he appeared older than this
photograph.
#36 He appeared older to me sitting there. (Mumbling)
It didn't seem like he .....well it seemed like he
was wearing a, wearing a slipover sweater over his
shirt, or something.
#14 Then you said you ......
#36 Oh! I saw a bunch of people. This was overlay.
Oh...uh..I'm sure. It must have been overlay. It
was a row ofrpe-eple- and :-auf-?.-__th were had their
sho f and were on carpets and, thewere almost
ostate with their rumps in the air. An saw
two rows of them. And I saw....awh...this must be
symbolic of the area we were interested in. But
dn't know, but, I couldn't shake the wa so I
went a and .dumpt,d---ice.rr aTiead and put it
in there. I think that was the bigger part of what

#36 This is confusing over here because I...for the
photos that I have been shown in the past ...I don't
remember any structure like this inside the ground.
But this is what I saw.
#14 You mentioned that you didn't have a feeling for
other people, other hostages. The only other person
that you described was the person__standing inside
of the structure.--

#36 That really startled me. I..uh..it's like.. .felt
almost like you were trying to sneak around and be
quiet ...go ahead .... don't worry about noise .... but
the feeling was like you are trying to sneak around
and be quiet and all of a sudden you're startled by
someone within a foot of you...and..uh..I remember
getting away from there and the images disappeared,
immediately. But, other than that and the people I
saw kneeling which was probably symbolic..uh..that's
all I saw.

1. (5) The viewer has been exposed to open source news media
information as well as classified overhead imagery. He knew he would
be working against the hostage situation in Iran.
2. (S) At the time of the session, the viewer was told he would be
trying to locate Michael T1etrinko. The viewer was shown the attached
photograph and asked to locate and describe the surroundings of the
individual in the photo.
