NDS Operations Procedure Manual SYSTEM SW & HW NO. P-D005 7 March 1984 1. This manual provides the guidelines for DCOB/DCOS operators when setting an application for DRUM boots. 2. The following documents are applicable to this manual. a. Operators Reference Manual b. Procedure Supplements 3. The DCOB/DCOS operator is responsible for carrying out this procedure under the direction of the OCO, Shift Supervisor or Senior Operator. 4. When a drum boot is performed on the NDS, the following steps should be taken: a. Load paths for each cluster should be established before any bootstrapping is done. (1) Cluster 0, 1 or cross clustered (2) CPUs in application (3) IOUs in application (4) MSUs in application (5) SIUs in application b. Maintenance mode switches used in configuration should be in the OFF position. c. Release the panel lock. d. The load path should be set to specify components in applications. f. Make sure that the LOAD PATH indicator light for the application is on. This indicator light is green. g. Make sure that the ENABLE PARTITION INTERFACE indicator light is on. This indicator light is green. h. Make sure that the MANUAL LOAD/ENABLE indicator light is on. This indicator light is yellow. i. Set the CHANNEL, DEVICE and UNIT rotary switches on the IOU selected by the load path to point to system drum boot device (SSDO). J. Rotate the PROCESSOR SELECT rotary switch to the appropriate processor and set no jump keys for the drum boot unless a dump is needed. k. Under manual load, press CLEAR and INITIAL load. 1. EXEC messages will be displayed at the operator's console. The console will be the lowest numbered console on-line at the SAU.
